let it snow, let it snow, let it snow….

January 7, 2010

You’ve probably heard by now, and probably experienced it, but this week it snowed. In fact over the last few weeks we’ve had much more snow than I can ever remember. Snow has always been something that used to come around once every few years and last for about 4 days, but not this year.

Needless to say snow is becoming slightly inconvenient at the moment, and i think everyone is a little sick of the stuff by now, what with the public transport issues and trouble on the roads.

However… snow makes for interesting and unusual shots so I’m not complaining too much as it gives me a chance to try out my new camera (a Nikon Coolpix P90).

I’d taken a few photos of the snow from December..

But earlier on while making a cup of tea I noticed we had a special visitor that I couldn’t help but take some photos of.

I’ve seen him from a distance before, but never this close to the house during the day, I’ve formed a bit of an attachment to him because not only does he look cute, but he was so cold he was shaking at times.

I think he deserves a name, anyone got any suggestions?

Aww wow! Your photos are wonderful! Some of the fox ones and the various birds are absolutely adorable, like with the flake of snow on his nose as he wanders. You really do have an eye for this thing, it’s amazing.

Ooh name suggestions! Went straight past me…

Ginger is quite appropriate considering it’s auburn/ginger coat…
Missy, considering it’s mischiveious wandering through the garden…
Snowflake! Just for that one photo of the nose 🙂

I’m no good with names. ‘Amazin’i doesn’t seem too appropriate for a fox. 🙂
